4-Day Safari to Iconic National Parks

4-Day Safari to Iconic National Parks

This 4-day African safari, featuring Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater, is designed to provide a concentrated yet exhilarating Tanzanian Northern Circuit experience over 4 days and 3 nights. You’ll enjoy thrilling game viewing in three of Tanzania’s most stunning national parks.

Day 1-Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Following breakfast at your lodging in Arusha, your driver-guide will greet you for a short briefing before proceeding to Tarangire National Park for a wildlife drive. The park runs along the Tarangire River and features gently rolling hills situated on the Great Rift Valley floor. The natural flora is dominated by acacia woodlands and massive African baobab trees, alongside large swampy regions in the southern part. In Tanzania’s dry season, the river and swamps become a magnet for abundant wildlife. Tarangire National Park is famous for hosting some of Africa’s biggest elephant herds and shelters three rare species: the greater kudu, fringed-eared oryx, and ashy starling. You’ll have a picnic lunch and carry on with the game drive until the evening hours. Later, you’ll travel to Karatu Safari Camp to spend the night.

The Serengeti is well-known for the “Big Five” and a diverse array of other animals. We’ll start with a morning game drive, offering you opportunities to see the park’s various wildlife until midday. Post-lunch, you’ll engage in another game drive before heading back to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3-Serengeti National Park

Today, you’ll descend more than 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater to watch wildlife. Thanks to year-round water and food supply, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area hosts many animals such as wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and large African elephants. The area is notable for its dense populations of predators like lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and elusive leopards that often need a keen eye to see. You can also often spot large flocks of flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic birds here. Late in the afternoon, you’ll move to the campsite for your overnight stay.

Day 4-Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Situated in northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is famous for the vast Ngorongoro Crater and its “Big Five” game animals: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. Every year, large herds of wildebeests and zebras migrate across its plains. The semi-nomadic Maasai community’s livestock graze together with the wild animals. Within the area lies the Olduvai Gorge, known for hominin fossils dating back millions of years. In the afternoon, you will leave the national park and journey back to Arusha.
